How to Forward an Extension- phone.mvnu.edu

  1. If you have  not previously logged into phone.mvnu.edu, you will need to create a dashboard and widgets. Click here to find the article explaining that.
  2. Locate the Follow Me widget. In order to have calls first be sent to your extension, and then be forwarded to your cell phone, follow the instructions below.
    1. Slide the enable button to “on".
    2. Click the gear/tool icon. 
    3. Ensure that the number for calls to be forwarded to is listed beneath your extension. 
      1. In a list, your extension will be seen, and beneath that your cell phone number.
        1. You will need to list the number 9 before the cell phone number, and a pound symbol afterward.
        2. Make sure that there are no dashes.
        3. Ex: 97405070275#
          1. You can alter how long you would like to hear a ring on your desk phone before the call is forwarded to your cell phone.
    4. It should automatically save and it will indicate that within the page
  3. To have your extension forward to another MVNU extension follow directions 1-2 a,b,c. (not i 1-3)
    1. Add the extension of the person you want to receive your phone calls under your extension 
    2. The system will automatically save, but please test the change before leaving campus to make sure it is set up the way you want it.

Some extensions have a DID (Direct Inward Dialing) assigned to your extension. When Call Forwarding is setup, the phone that is receiving your calls through your DID. This applies also to anyone calling from another extension on campus. This will help you identify that it is a call coming from the campus extension assigned to you.
